How Huuve works with your Discord server

A Discord server is not a feed. It is a room your customers share. There is no algorithm to please: conversation is the only reach. A quiet server dies within weeks. Our job is to keep yours fed without eating your week.

What we read

We start from your business, its plan and its numbers. Each campaign tells us what news deserves an announcement and what question deserves a discussion. Your notes on what members ask feed the next campaign's brief.

What we do there

Each campaign we plan two kinds of Discord content:

  • Announcements. One per campaign beat, written as a message or an embed for your announcements channel. Real news only: a launch, an offer, an event.
  • Discussion prompts. One per week of the campaign, placed in the channel where it fits: a question, a poll, or a forum post that members answer to each other, not just to you.

We write each piece in your server's tone: casual, direct, emoji where it helps. We never send the same copy to two channels. If a live message needs a fix, we edit it from Huuve, no need to open the app yourself.

What you approve

Nothing posts until you say so. You see each announcement and prompt in your weekly review, change what you want, and approve the rest. That review is part of your 15 minutes a week.

What you get

A server that stays alive. Announcements carry your news to the people who care most. Prompts start member-to-member conversation, and that conversation is what makes members invite people who belong. The return is not direct sales: it is customers who stay, tell you what to build, and bring their friends.

One honest note: a server only works once you have real fans. If you are still building your first audience, start with your social channels and open the server when people ask for it.

Discord runs in your Inbox channel.

The audience

Who you reach on Discord.

Belonging: a niche community that talks to ITSELF around the brand, in real time. People join for access and stay for each other. The business hosts the room but the members make it worth entering. This is the deepest-loyalty surface in the stack and the most labor-intensive.

Best practices

What works on Discord.

Announcements when there is real news; presence in discussion channels daily if you can.

How often

2posts a week

What works
Community first: announcements in their channel, conversation everywhere else. Polls and events drive participation.
How to write
Casual, direct, emoji-friendly. Never cross-post identical copy to every channel.
Good to know
A server lives on member-to-member conversation. Seed discussions, don't broadcast at people.
What to measure
Active members and retention, event turnout, member-started conversations, contribution spread (is it three people or thirty). Total member count is vanity. A 200-member server that talks beats 5000 lurkers.
What to avoid
Opening a server before having real fans; broadcast-only announcement servers; leaving it unmoderated; the founder disappearing for weeks; measuring joins instead of conversation.

Message
A message, with media or embeds, in the server's channel.
## Discord message **What it is.** A text message in one server channel, with media or an embed. Members read it in the channel feed and can reply, react or start a thread. **Specs** - Text: up to 2,000 characters. Aim for 300–600; a message longer than one screen loses readers. - Media: up to 10 attachments per message, 10 MB each. 16:9 images (1280x720) fill the feed without cropping. - Links unfurl into an embed. One link per message keeps the embed clean; wrap a link in `<` `>` to stop the unfurl. - Markdown works: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, > quote, bullet lists, headers with #. **What works** - Lead with the point in the first line. Members scan the feed; the first line decides if they stop. - Write like a member, not a broadcaster. Discord punishes ad-speak: members mute channels that read like a feed of promos. - One message, one topic. Split two topics into two messages so replies stay on track. - Ask a question or give a clear next step at the end; a message that invites a reply keeps the channel alive. - Post an image or short clip with the text; media messages get more reactions and replies. - Use @everyone and @here rarely, only for news every member needs. Overuse drives mutes and leaves. - Emoji: 1–2 to set tone, not as decoration in every line. **Cadence** - 2–4 messages a week per channel. Daily posting is fine when each message earns replies; gaps over two weeks make the server look dead. - Post when your members are online, usually evenings and weekends for consumer servers. **Avoid** - Cross-posting the same message to several channels. - Walls of text with no breaks; use short paragraphs and bullets. - Bare links with no context; say what the link gives and why to click.
