Set up Pinterest ads

Pinterest ads have a property no other paid channel has: promoted pins keep earning saves and clicks after the campaign ends, because pins live on in search and boards. If your business is visual and your customers plan ahead, this is paid reach that compounds.

What you need

A Pinterest business account with a claimed website (see the Pinterest guide).

Create the ads account and tag

  1. In your Pinterest business account, open the Ads section — the ads account is created with your currency and country on first use (permanent; check them).
  2. Add billing.
  3. Install the Pinterest tag on your site (native integrations exist for the major shop platforms) and verify the base tag plus a checkout or lead event fires.

What a promoted pin should be

  • Exactly what a good organic pin is: vertical 2:3 image, text overlay stating the benefit, keyworded title and description.
  • The landing page continues the pin's promise — same product, same idea.

The timing rule Pinterest rewards

Pinterest users plan 6-8 weeks ahead. Launch seasonal campaigns EARLY: Christmas gifting in October, summer terrace in April. Target the searches of the season before the season.

The discipline

  • Campaigns build slowly compared to Meta — judge over weeks, not days.
  • Watch saves as a leading indicator; saved pins keep working for free.

Connect it to Huuve

When the Pinterest Ads connector is enabled for your workspace, open Connections in Huuve and authorize the ads account. Results feed Huuve's intelligence next to your organic pins.

If something fails

  • Tag not verified: propagation and caching delay it — use Pinterest's tag health check after an hour.
  • Ads rejected: usually text-heavy images or landing-page mismatch; simplify the overlay and align the page.
