Set up WhatsApp Business

For many businesses — especially local and service businesses — WhatsApp is where customers actually want to talk. WhatsApp Business gives you a proper business identity, quick replies and catalogs. The one rule that governs everything: reach here is permissioned, and people leave the moment it feels like spam.

Set up the app

  1. Download WhatsApp Business (a separate app from regular WhatsApp).
  2. Register with your BUSINESS phone number — a landline works (choose the call verification). Keep your personal number on the regular app; the two coexist on one phone.
  3. Build the profile: business name (hard to change later — get it right), category, address, hours, email, website, and a real photo or logo.

Use the business tools

  • Greeting message: auto-sent to new conversations — one warm line and what to expect.
  • Away message: set outside business hours with when you will reply.
  • Quick replies: canned answers for the questions you get daily (/prices, /hours).
  • Catalog: add products or services with photos and prices so you can share them in chat.
  • Labels: tag chats (new customer, order placed, paid) to keep the inbox workable.

Broadcast etiquette

Broadcast lists reach only people who saved your number — reach is earned. Send sparingly (one a week at most), one topic, one link, written like a text from a person. The channel's value is conversation; reply fast.

Connect it to Huuve

When the WhatsApp connector is enabled for your workspace, open Connections in Huuve and follow the connect flow. Huuve helps draft broadcasts that read like messages, keeps the cadence respectful, and pulls conversations into your inbox.

If something fails

  • Number already in use: it is registered on regular WhatsApp — deregister it there first or use another number.
  • Verification call never comes: retry with SMS, and check the number was entered with the right country code.
