Set up Reddit for your business

Reddit sends real, high-intent traffic — its threads rank on Google for years, and its communities give brutally honest feedback. It is also the platform where marketing behavior gets you banned fastest. The setup is easy; the discipline is the product.

Create the account

  1. Sign up at reddit.com. A brand-named account is fine for transparency; some founders use their own name with the business in the profile — both work if you are honest about who you are.
  2. Fill the profile: who you are, what you build, your site.
  3. Turn on two-factor authentication.

Find your communities

  1. Search for subreddits where your customers already talk — your niche, your city, your customers' hobby.
  2. Join them and read each one's rules (sidebar). Many ban promotion outright; some have weekly promo threads; some allow it with disclosure.
  3. Sort by Top posts of the year to learn what each community values.

Earn standing before you need it

  • Answer questions in your area of expertise with genuinely complete answers — no link, no pitch.
  • Comment for weeks before you post; account age and karma are how communities filter spammers.
  • When your product honestly answers someone's question, mention it WITH disclosure ("I make this, so biased, but…"). Redditors reward honesty and destroy stealth marketing.

Connect it to Huuve

When the Reddit connector is enabled for your workspace, open Connections in Huuve and authorize the account. Huuve treats Reddit differently from broadcast platforms: drafts are value-first text posts for the subreddits you choose, never cross-posted campaign copy.

If something fails

  • Posts removed instantly: the subreddit's automod filters new/low-karma accounts — build comment karma first, or message the moderators.
  • Shadowbanned feeling (posts get zero engagement): check your profile logged out; if posts are invisible, appeal via Reddit's help center and stop posting links until resolved.
