Set up OpenAI ads
OpenAI's ads platform places your offer inside ChatGPT conversations — shown when a user's task matches what you sell. It is the newest channel on this list and behaves unlike feed advertising: you are answering a need in progress, not interrupting a scroll.
Create the account
- Sign up for the OpenAI ads platform with your business email and complete the advertiser verification.
- Add billing, and note your currency and market settings.
- Create an API key for the ads account — Huuve connects with this key, so store it safely (you can revoke and re-issue keys any time).
How to think about targeting
Target by NEED, not demographics: the platform matches your campaign to conversation tasks ("planning a garden" → your garden products). Write your targeting around the tasks your customers are doing when they need you — the jobs, questions and plans, not the age brackets.
Writing conversation-native ads
- The headline states the concrete offer — what the user gets, plainly.
- The body stays under ~100 characters and makes one claim. In a conversation, brevity reads as confidence.
- The ad should feel like a relevant answer, because contextually it is one.
Budget discipline
- Lifetime budgets only — start small.
- Watch cost per conversion from day one; scale the campaigns that convert, kill the ones that only get impressions.
Connect it to Huuve
In Huuve, open Connections, press Connect next to OpenAI Ads, and paste your ads API key. Huuve validates it, mirrors your campaigns and results, and folds them into your briefings and strategy intelligence.
If something fails
- Key rejected: it is for the wrong OpenAI product (platform API vs ads) or was revoked — issue a fresh key from the ads account.
- No campaign data: new campaigns report with a delay; check back after the first spend.
