Set up Bluesky for your business
Bluesky feels like early Twitter: small enough that conversations get noticed, text-led, and friendly to genuine participation. For most businesses it is a secondary channel — cheap to maintain, valuable if your niche migrated there.
Create the account
- Sign up at bsky.app with your business email.
- Pick a handle; you get name.bsky.social by default.
- Fill the profile: display name, one-line bio with what you do, your site, logo as avatar, and a banner.
Claim your domain as your handle
Bluesky's best trust feature: your handle can be your own domain (@verdantcoffee.com), which verifies you own it.
- In Settings, find the change-handle option and choose your own domain.
- Add the DNS TXT record Bluesky shows you at your domain registrar.
- Verify — your handle becomes the domain, and nobody can impersonate it.
How to show up
- Post near-daily, short and conversational: takes, questions, work-in-progress.
- No hashtag culture — write sentences. Reply often; the network is small enough that replies build real relationships.
- Keep promotion light; Bluesky's culture rewards people, not broadcasts.
Connect it to Huuve
When the Bluesky connector is enabled for your workspace, open Connections in Huuve and connect the account. Huuve drafts short, conversational posts in your voice and keeps the cadence steady for your approval.
If something fails
- Domain handle verification fails: DNS changes take time to propagate — wait an hour and re-verify; check the TXT record is exactly as shown, at the right subdomain.
