Set up your Shopify blog for SEO
Every Shopify store ships with a blog, and most stores never use it. That is a miss: the blog is the store's SEO surface — the place that can rank for the searches buyers type before they know your brand ("best beans for cold brew", "how to size a linen shirt"). Unlike a social post, an article that ranks keeps selling for years.
Find and set up the blog
- In Shopify admin, open Online Store, then Blog posts. The default blog is usually called "News" — rename it to something meaningful under Manage blogs (e.g. "Journal" or "Guides").
- Check the blog is visible in your store's navigation so articles get internal links.
- Under each article's search-engine listing section you can edit the page title and meta description — use it.
The editorial rules that make it work
- One target search per article. Pick a query your buyer types, answer it fully, and put it in the title as plainly as possible.
- A product tie-in in every article. Link naturally to your own products and collections — traffic without a next step is wasted.
- Internal links between articles. Related guides linking to each other is how the whole blog rises.
- Consistency compounds. One or two articles a week, sustained, beats a launch burst followed by silence.
Connect it to Huuve
In Huuve, open Connections and press Connect next to Shopify Blog. Enter your store domain and approve the connection in Shopify. Huuve then drafts SEO articles targeted at real searches around your products — each with a title, structure, product links and meta description — and publishes to your chosen blog on approval.
If something fails
- Wrong blog: stores can have several blogs; pick the right one in Huuve's connector settings.
- Articles publish as hidden: check the article visibility setting in Shopify — drafts stay hidden until published.
